You can delete your GemID account and all associated data at any time. Deletion is permanent — there is no recovery period.
What gets deleted
When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed:
- Your account record and login credentials
- All saved gem identification sessions and notes
- All photos attached to your sessions
- Your subscription record and billing association (Stripe, for web subscribers)
- Any client metadata you have stored
Your account and associated data are deleted immediately when you request account deletion. Residual copies in system backups are purged within 30 days. Financial transaction records required by law (e.g., subscription receipts) may be retained for up to 7 years.
Option 1 — Delete in the app (recommended)
Open GemID → Settings → Delete Account. Confirm when prompted. Your account and all data are deleted immediately.
Option 2 — Email request
If you cannot access the app, email us at legal@gemid-labs.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request" and include the email address associated with your account. We will process your request within 30 days.
