How a collector uses GemID

Step 1

Verify the stone

Enter what you can measure or observe — RI if you have a refractometer, SG by hydrostatic weighing, UV response, optic character. The engine filters 130 species to ranked candidates and tells you the single best next test.

Step 2

Save the session

The identification becomes a collection record: every observation, the candidates, your conclusion, photos, carat weight, purchase price, and seller notes.

Step 3

Build the catalog

Organize by species, source, or case. Import an existing spreadsheet by CSV; export any collection back out. The record syncs across your devices.
